A High-Alpine Log Cabin Retreat in Angel Fire
Wake to mountain air, towering pines, and wildlife from the wraparound deck. Bear Necessities Lodge is a one-acre forest retreat on the Angel Fire ski mountain at 9,712 ft. Built for families and multi-couple groups, it sleeps up to 8 with three king bedrooms, a loft with two twin beds, and two full baths. Share meals at the dining table for 8, cook in a fully equipped kitchen, gather in roomy living areas, and store outdoor gear. Slopes, bike park, golf, hiking, and town are 10–15 minutes away. The space NEW IN 2026: Updated stainless kitchen appliances and a new concrete unloading area with a walkway to the lower deck. Preserving its authentic log-cabin character, Bear Necessities Lodge pairs a wildlife-rich mountain setting with a group-ready layout for families and multi-couple groups who want time together and private places to unwind. The lodge comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests in five real beds—no sleeper sofa or futon. Three private king bedrooms give adults comfortable places to recharge, while the loft with two twin beds creates a separate space for kids or extra guests. It also has two full bathrooms: a main-level bathroom with a traditional tub-and-shower combination and an upper-level bathroom with a jetted soaking tub and handheld wand. The dining table seats eight, and the fully equipped kitchen is sized for real family meals. Roomy gathering areas, multiple entertainment options, and a spacious garage for gear storage mean everyone can relax, play, and keep equipment out of the way. Stairs Required: Bear Necessities Lodge is an elevated, multi-level log cabin. Stairs are required to enter the main living area and access the upper level. Guests consistently praise the comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen, peaceful wildlife setting, time on the wraparound deck, and how accurately the lodge matches the photos.
